Problem
determine the appropriate storage size under complex time of use, demand response and contract capacity conditions, for a site running a heavy round the clock base load.
Work
- analysed billing across regular and supplementary contract capacity, modelled multiple power and energy configurations including 15 MW with 90 MWh and 15 MW with 60 MWh, and tested achievable contract capacity targets against the site's genuine base load.

The 50 percent free allowance on supplementary contract capacity removed a savings opportunity the original business case had assumed. Contract capacity targets below roughly 16,000 kW were unreachable at any battery size.
Consequence
two of the largest lines in the original model were removed. They were arithmetic errors in the tariff logic rather than optimistic assumptions, and the corrected case supported a smaller system.
