Problem
size storage for a site served by two separate utility feeder lines with independent contract capacity and metering.

Work
  • modelled each feeder's load and demand profile separately, checked how far the two feeders' peaks coincided in time, and combined the results into a single storage and dispatch strategy.

the two feeders' demand peaks did not line up in time, so a single combined capacity figure would have overstated the site's real exposure and misled the sizing case.

Consequence
the model kept the feeders separate through the demand analysis and only merged them once each side of the dispatch strategy was confirmed.
