build a defensible dispatch and savings model for a large science park facility using fifteen minute interval data.

Work
  • developed peak shaving and over contract suppression logic with state of charge floors and round trip efficiency integrated into the tariff calculation, and added customer baseline calculation and utilisation metrics.

19 percentdischarge utilisation

Approximately 19 percent discharge utilisation and around 70 equivalent full cycles per year. The battery was being paid for as infrastructure and used as insurance.

Consequence
utilisation replaced return on investment as the first metric reviewed at subsequent sizing meetings.
